The Cajun Navy , known for their tireless efforts in aiding those affected by natural disasters, envisioned a scalable and versatile disaster response solution called the SAFE Camp.
Their concept aimed at providing supplemental services swiftly and efficiently to communities in crisis, and their ambitious vision caught the attention of our team at LA NPDT.

We collaborated closely with the Cajun Navy, leveraging our skills to create the design and a compelling visual demonstration of the SAFE Camp concept. This visual material was instrumental in conveying the robustness and versatility of the SAFE Camp to potential supporters and funders. It painted a vivid picture of how the camp could operate, particularly when strategically located in areas such as Walmart’s store locations, which are recognizable and accessible to the community.
Our successful collaboration led to the project gaining the recognition of the Walmart Foundation. The detailed visualization of the SAFE Camp resonated with the Walmart executives, who saw the immense potential in deploying these camps in areas affected by natural disasters. This led to a significant grant of $50,000 from the Walmart Foundation, a crucial step forward in the realization of the SAFE Camp.
The camp provided immediate assistance to tens of thousands of people in distress, reinforcing the Cajun Navy’s objective to bring stability to communities during times of great turmoil.
As disaster struck in the form of Hurricane Ian in 2022, the Cajun Navy was ready. The SAFE Camp concept, shaped and honed with our team’s help, was deployed in North Fort Myers Beach. The camp was an overwhelming success, not only in terms of logistics and organization but also in terms of the sheer magnitude of assistance provided. Remarkably, the Cajun Navy was able to distribute over $265,000 worth of supplies to families each day in the wake of Hurricane Ian’s devastation.
